Tour Description

Departing from Quay 5, the cruise heads out from the harbour into Table Bay, where you can enjoy sweeping views of Table Mountain, the city skyline, and the glowing coastline as the sun begins to set. There is no fixed destination, which means the journey is all about slowing down, enjoying the atmosphere, and soaking up the beauty of the moment.

Departure time

Departure time to be confirmed upon booking (Boarding time 15 minutes prior departure time).

The departure time varies according to the changing seasons, aligning with the actual sunset time.

Route

The route typically takes you out across the bay in the direction of Milnerton Lighthouse before returning via the more sheltered waters of Granger Bay. Along the way, you will have plenty of opportunities to capture stunning photographs of Cape Town’s famous mountains, sea views, and sunset colours.

Weather

Spirit of Victoria operates in most weather conditions. However, for the safety and comfort of our guests, cruises may be postponed or cancelled in the event of severe weather, strong winds, or stormy seas.

What To Wear

Sunset cruises can become cooler as the evening sets in. We recommend bringing warm layers during winter, with scarves and beanies being popular choices. In summer, a light jersey or jacket is advisable. Comfortable closed shoes such as takkies are ideal for moving around onboard.

What to Bring: 

Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks and drinks (Corkage fee applys). Don’t forget your camera or phone to capture the magical Cape Town sunset, and binoculars if you’d like a closer view of the coastline and marine life.

• Prompt arrival is essential as the boat cannot wait for latecomers, and refunds will not be provided.
• Remember to bring sunglasses, hats, jackets or windbreakers, and non-marking shoes (e.g., trainers/deck shoes). Avoid black soles or high heels.

Important Booking Information

• Spirit of Victoria requires a minimum of 4 passengers to operate the sunset cruise. If the minimum number is not reached, we will contact you and arrange an alternative boat for your sunset cruise.
• If Spirit of Victoria is booked for a private charter on your chosen date, we may also need to move your booking to another suitable boat.
• Please be flexible when booking Spirit of Victoria, as the boat may change depending on passenger numbers and private charter bookings.
